How long does the timber last?
At least 15 years and probably longer if well maintained. Many wine barrels have lasted 30 years and more.

Does the timber get slimy?
Hot Tubs get slimy when there is a chemical imbalance in the water, or if there has been excessive quantities of chlorine used. As long as you do five minutes of chemical maintenance weekly you will have no problems.

What kind of maintenance is required?
A few minutes a week is all it takes to test the water and adjusting the chemical balance. The filter cartridge should be washed every month, and the Hot Tub water should be changed every 2 – 3 months, depending on usage. A water change is an opportune time to give the Hot Tub walls a sponge or light scrub.

Is Chemical Maintenance simple?
Yes. A test strip dipped into the water for a few seconds indicates what chemicals need adding.

What is the difference between a Hot Tub and a Spa Pool?
The only difference is Hot Tubs are made on wood and spa pools are made of plastic. Both are easily maintained but the hot tub is a metre deep. This allows you to sit upright, with the water at your shoulders, creating a feeling of weightlessness.

What does it feel like in a Hot Tub?
The sensation is completely luxurious. You have the choice of either sitting on the seats, or as your body is almost buoyant in water, you can let yourself float in a reclining position, with the jets swirling around your back.

Do Hot Tubs ever leak?
Leaks are extremely rare. The nature of a Hot Tub’s construction makes leaks very unlikely. Any split, check or crack in the timber will close very quickly as the timber swells when the water seeps in. This swelling seals the Hot Tub, as with a wine barrel.

Is the wood treated or sealed in any way?
Due to natural preservatives in the Cedar, no timber treatment is needed. This is why cedar makes such long lasting weatherboards (50-70 years) in the housing industry. The outside of the Hot Tub is coated with CD50 stain for appearance. New Hot Tubs will leach Tannin, but the leaching will only last 3-4 months.

How much do Hot Tubs cost to run?
Depending on your power rate they can currently cost about $2 - $3 per day on an electric element but there are cheaper options.

Where is the best placement for a Hot Tub?
People have them next to swimming pools, in conservatories or gazebos, in bush or gardens, indoors or out. Partially or wholly set in decks with steps built up to them or deck built around, on the edge of a deck or freestanding on patios. It really depends on your site and imagination. The only consideration is to have a concrete pad or solid deck or floor as foundation.

What is the best size?
Our 5 foot Hot Tub can hold up to six people and is the most common, accounting for 80 – 90% of our installations.

What kind of delivery can I expect on placing an order?
Expect delivery within 14 days of receipt of deposit, although this is subject to outstanding orders and material availability.
